The Debate 2018 Stagecoach Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Franc
4905Product Details
Stagecoach Vineyard is the largest of the three sites used
by The Debate team and the one with the most elevation. The long hang time
allowed for a most powerful expression of Cabernet Franc. Stagecoach Vineyard
has amazing structure, strength and power yet an elegant softness and
accessibility. It features a shiny, deep red cherry color with garnet and red
on the rim. The nose is beautiful sweet candied cherries with plum and touches
of roses, raspberries and pencil shavings, lingering on sun-dried tomatoes. The
palate is round with a dark fruit entrance evolving on a framed mid palate with
macerated cherries and potpourri, lingering on peaches, red cherry and a framed
tannic structure with freshly picked lilac and chalk. 100% Barrel Fermented, 20
days on skins. Aged 22 months, 80% new French oak. Winemaker notes
Blend: 100% Cabernet Franc
(95 JD) From a larger site on Pritchard Hill, the 2018
Cabernet Franc Stagecoach sports a deep purple hue as well as sumptuous notes
of red and black currants, smoked tobacco, spice box, and loamy earth. Medium
to full-bodied on the palate, this spicy, complex, up-front, and beautifully
textured Cabernet Franc is going to evolve for 15-20 years if stored correctly.
It's another impressive Cabernet Franc from Napa Valley
