(WA 96) Next to the 2016 vintage, this wine from 2015 reminds us of the broad, rich and thick textural support that characterizes this warm vintage. The 2015 Barbaresco Riserva Camp Gros Martinenga moves slowly and smoothly over the palate, imparting robust and soft fruit flavors along the way. It is open and generous, but it doesn't give away too much at once. It gives, then holds back and then gives again. I doubled decanted my sample before tasting it, and you can play that give-and-take forward for some time as the wine aerates in the glass. I would love to revisit this Riserva in 10 years' time.
